I watch birds. In watching them, I have found my spiritual practice.

I photograph birds. Through photography, I find my footing or as the Buddhists might say, I "hold my seat". Paying attention to the avian world helps me stay present and connected, even when days feel difficult.

I love birds. In loving them, I inhabit a world that offers a peaceful way of being. Their everyday presence has drawn me into a daily journey rooted in joy.

ABOUT THE LAND I WALK ON

I am based in Santa Cruz, Ca. The unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
